Made the Offer

I went back to the house that I am most interested in this afternoon. I just wanted to make sure I was remembering everything correctly and knew what needed work and didn’t need work.

It’s almost 2,000 square feet. I know that’s not huge for many - but after a lifetime of apartment living it’s huge for me. It’s a 2 family that I’ll be using as a 1 family. Right now there are 6 bedrooms, 2
bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms and 2 dining rooms. A small room off the upstairs living room with a porch off of it I have already designated as “the cats room” They will LOVE hanging out on window perches in there trying to coax birds over.

The house needs work, but not work to live in it, and not work immediately to stop a crisis so we can settle in and then I can work on deciding what to do for the fence, steps and paint job.

So I decided it was the house for me and I went back to the realtors office to write up the offer. I parted with my earnest money - feeling very shaky about my huge step but very excited.

The Underwriter Called

Yay. Friday afternoon the underwriter called to tell me preapproval was signed off on and the letter would be on it’s way. Suddenly it’s all very real.!

I’m going out this afternoon to do a 2nd look at the house I’m ready to make an offer on (I think) I haven’t looked at that many yet, but the first one remains the one with the most potential.
