I would have been 16 or 17, obviously we needed to take a razor to my sides. I think we were in the bathroom at Sasha’s… who had the good fortune of living on St. Mark’s place, - about 4 blocks away from where I was on East 4th. The gentrification folks were just starting to call the place “the east village” but it still wasn’t a playground for the wealthy… YET.
